In the UK there isn't an accreditation system in the way it is understood in the US, i.e. a university (or other institute of higher education) cannot be "accredited" or "unaccredited". Instead there is a system of quality assurance, with reviews carried out by Government appointed agencies, which assess the systems that institutions have in place to assure the quality of their courses and qualifications.

An exit award provides recognition of completion of a number of credits, when you have not completed a full Master's programme. It means you may be able to exit your programme with a postgraduate certificate after completing 60 credit units, or a postgraduate diploma after 120 units. This will need to be approved on an individual basis by an Award board after withdrawal.

You might need to provide evidence of your English language ability if it is not your first language. We accept the following qualifications:
  • IELTS (Academic) – For all programmes, the IELTS test must be completed within the last 5 years, with an overall score of 6.0 with no individual section lower than 5.5. For our MPH programmes, the overall score must be 6.5 overall with no individual component below 5.5
  • Pearson PTE (Academic) overall minimum 50
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CCAE & CPE) with minimum scores of 162 in listening, reading, writing and speaking
  • TOEFL iBT overall minimum 60
  • Trinity Integrated Skills in English (ISE) II: Merit or Distinction
  • Duolingo minimum overall score of 90

We will require confirmation that the course was conducted in English, we can accept this from any nation, within the last 10 years. Evidence of this can be provided from either the official degree Certificate, Transcript or a letter from the University containing the University logo, a signature and an official stamp.

Yes, you can transfer up to 60 credits, however this will be assessed on an individual basis, alongside your application.

Our degree programmes are entirely online – you will not require a visa while you study with us.

You will need to provide your degree certificate and if you have studied outside the UK, you will need to provide your academic transcripts as evidence of your education. Residency documents may also be applicable. If you are applying through a work experience route, your CV and references may also be required. If English is not your first language, we will require evidence that you have either studied in English or have an English language qualification.

If you are applying on work experience only, you will need to provide a reference to validate your experience.

Canvas, our online learning management platform.

You will interact with your fellow students through a discussion board on Canvas, our learning management platform.

You will need to complete:
  • Part-time – 18.5 hours of study per week and finish in a minimum of two years
  • Full-time – 37 hours of study per week and finish in a minimum of 14 months

There are two, 2-week breaks built into each year of the programme:
  • Winter – between the November and January modules
  • Summer – between the June and September modules

Each module lasts for 8 weeks in total, for part-time students your dissertation will be a longer 16 week module. For full time students, your dissertation, will be completed over an 8 week period. Delivery methods may include: short knowledge-focused videos, interviews and recorded group discussions, asynchronous debates and workshops and podcasts. Additionally, you will be provided with supplemental reading lists, which may include video resource links and general supporting information. The course will make use of techniques such as case studies, problem solving activities, discussions (both structured and unstructured), evaluation of online and documentary resources and guest speaker inputs. You will be expected, and directed, to read from a range of sources, including academic journals, and you will work autonomously as well as interactively within group exercises. Your course may include a variety of assessment activities, such as: written examinations, practical (for example, oral and video presentations, laboratory work, performances, practical skills assessment). At the end of your postgraduate degree, you are likely to be expected to write an extended piece of work or research, such as a dissertation or a practice-based piece of research.

Our course content is reviewed continuously. Reading lists, for example, are released 1–2 weeks of the module start date so they can be reviewed before the module begins.

All coursework and assessments are completed online, so you will not need to travel to undertake your studies.

There is no requirement to attend at any particular time, so you can study whenever suits you, as long as you're keeping pace with the module requirements, such as assessment deadlines and regularly engage with the discussion boards.
